
Flute, Guest Artist
Joanna Berg is principal flute in the Missoula Symphony, teaches at the University of Montana and is a member of the Montana Woodwind Quartet. She was winner of the Byron Hester Competition, a prizewinner in the Myrna Brown Competition, and has performed concertos with orchestras in Texas and the Pacific Northwest. She has played with the San Antonio & Austin Symphonies, the San Francisco Opera Merola Orchestra, Abilene Philharmonic, Aspen Music Festival and orchestras throughout Montana. Joanna completed her doctorate at the University of Texas at Austin and studied with Jonathan Keeble, Marianne Gedigian & Mark Sparks. She is passionate about contemporary music and has performed at numerous festivals and alternative performance spaces, including the Other Minds Festival in San Francisco and on many recordings of contemporary music.
